The 19th Far East Forum
Kathleen Stephens, the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, received a warm welcome from more than 400 guests at the 19th Far East Forum. She delivered an excellent speech on Korea-US relations. Her devotion and love for our country was evident by her knowledge of our culture and language since she served in Korea as a Peace Corp volunteer from 1966-81. It was an invaluable time to evaluate and strengthen our position to serve global peace and prosperity. The Far East Forum has hosted prominent leaders in politics, economics, culture and international relations for the last seven years, to address a balanced world view from a Christian perspective.

With President Jimmy Carter
Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter visited Korea with his wife, Rosalynn, to receive an honorary doctorate degree in political science from Korea University. During his visit, it was my privilege to meet with him again after our 2005 meeting in Birmingham, UK, at the Baptist World Alliance Centenary Congress.
